Leo Lachini
Born in Belo Horizonte, Leo Lachini was interested in music from an early age. At the age of 4, he started studying piano, and at 14, he began his self-study of guitar, being encouraged by his friend and teacher Inácio Cavalieri. In 1991, alongside the band Entropia, he won his first prize at the ROCK SCHOOL FESTIVAL in BH.
In 1993 he founded the band Mandrix, a renowned cover of Jimi Hendrix, acting since then as its guitarist. From 1996 to 2005 he was guitarist for the band TIANASTÁCIA, where he recorded the albums “ACEBOLADO”, “TIANASTÁCIA (WHITE ALBUM)”, “TÁ NA BOA”, “CRIANÇA LOUCA”, “NA BOCA DO SAPO TEM DENTE” and “TIANASTÁCIA LIVE DVD, this with nomination for the 2005 LATIN GRAMMY.
In this period, supported by the producer and sound engineer Carlo Bartolini (ex-guitarist of the band Ultraje a Rigor), he began to act in the same area, performing his first work with the band Morro Tribal . His trajectory was consolidated in 2005, when he started working as a music producer and sound engineer at ESTÚDIO MÁQUINA (formerly STUDIO FERRETI, SKANK band), producing artists and soundtracks for advertising and short films.
In recognition of his work, in 2007 he participated in the production of "Osterreich am Ball" event, in Austria (Vienna, Gmunden Linz, St. Polten), with the aim of to publicize the UEFA (Union of European Football Federations). In the same year, he began his MASTER'S degree in RECORDING ARTS AND SCIENCES, at the UNIVERSITÉ PARIS EST DE MARNE LA VALLÉE – FRANCE –, where he deepened his studies on the influence of the environment on the quality of recording, having worked at STUDIOS DU PALAIS (Paris) and LA CARRIÈRE DE NORMANDOUX Festival (Poitiers - France). His outstanding performance gave him the opportunity to intern at the company WSDG (New York, USA), owned by renowned architect and acoustic engineer John Storyk, responsible for the design of the studios of Jimi Hendrix, Bruce Springsteen, Aerosmith and Greenday, among others.
On his return to Brazil, Leo Lachini began to provide consultancy in acoustics and sound systems for restaurants, bars, studios, churches and homes. With a wide portfolio of customers, it had an outstanding performance with PIZZARIA E TRATORIA DOMENICO and RESTAURANT WALLS GASTROPUB.
At the same time, he resumed his work as a music producer and sound engineer, recording artists such as SKANK, CESAR MENOTTI E FABIANO and JAMIL. He also produced several soundtracks for clients like DISNEY CHANNEL, CLUBE ATLÉTICO MINEIRO, QUARTETO FILMES and BRÓKOLIS DO BRASIL, among others.
In 2012 he was invited to work at RIEDEL COMMUNICATIONS, having monitored the installation and operation of state-of-the-art communication equipment in major events, such as: London Olympic Games , Formula 1, Metropolitan Opera House (Nova York) e "Prêmio Multishow da Música Brasileira"_on 2014.
In 2014, he founded the company Leo Lachini Sound Design and Acoustics, with the purpose of continuing the work of acoustic consulting and ambient sound, in addition to the musical production of artists and soundtracks for films and advertising. Leo Lachini also develops design work for studios and home theaters in partnership with architects Vivian Hunnicutt and Humberto Hermeto. The refined technique and good musical taste are hallmarks of his work, combined with careful listening, dedication and a sense of urgency to deliver the works no timing necessário.
In 2015, another avant-garde project of his own was born – THE REC PROJECT –, inspired by MONTREUX FESTIVAL and NEW YORK CBGB'S with live concert recordings.
